Sometimes we get to a place where we finally feel defeated, frustrated, and overwhelmed. Regardless of what you are experiencing, my office has an open door with a gorgeous pond view for you to unpack everything when you are ready.
As a former Division I athlete and United States National Team member I remember what it was like being a part of National Championship Teams and still struggling with feelings of not-enoughness. After walking through my journey I came to learn that nearly every athlete experiences some form of mental health struggle in silence. I have a passion for walking alongside and bringing light to the unspoken pandemic of mental health in athletes that is silently knocking out our youth today.

As an elite athlete, I remember feeling as though no one understood what I was going through. My goal is to provide a safe space for female athletes and their parents to have someone who gets it, relates to it, and has a lived experience of it.

When working with athletes I know that every sport and human is uniquely different. While we will spend some time focusing on basic education of what is occurring, and providing you with skills to help better equip you in the moment. My overall goal is to help you understand that you aren’t alone, there isn’t something inherently wrong with you, and that what is occurring makes sense. We will also come up with a plan that is unique to you based on your strengths and growth areas to then get to the root of what is causing your setback.

It wasn’t my original intention to work and walk alongside athletes when I started in this field which is why I also have a passion for working with trauma survivors, eating disorders, sex therapy, couples and those experiencing anxiety and life transitions. I currently work with just females and couples. When working with these struggles we will spend more time diving deeper into the root of what is causing everything. We will spend time unpacking your past and connecting it to previous life experiences to present life struggles. Sometimes this will look like diving deep into the depths of who you are. Other times this will look like celebrating victories and successes in your life.

My hope for each of you when you leave my office is that you will have a better understanding of not only who you are but how you came to be the person you are today. That you will come to have self-compassion for all parts of you, even if you currently hate and are struggling to love those parts..

When I’m not in the counseling room my husband and I are parents to loving our toddler and newborn at home. We joke about how he has two therapists as parents so he will grow up talking about his feelings and we will be saving for his therapy fund for all the ways we are going to mess up. When we both aren’t seeing clients we are taking him and our golden retriever, Magnolia, to the river or lake and reminiscing on what it was like in the quiet days before parenthood where our biggest worry was if our dog got free chasing squirrels.
