Hi! My name is Hayley, and I am an associate professional counselor with Roots Therapy. I  am also a current doctoral candidate at Mercer University pursuing a Ph. D in Counselor Education and Supervision. I enjoy the arts in all forms, immersing myself in nature experiences, enjoying the ambience of a local coffee shop, and spending time with my partner and two cats, Remy and Bambino.

I deeply appreciate the opportunity to work with individuals from all walks of life who are seeking to understand themselves better. For me, being a therapist is more than a job; it’s a core component of my identity - I am passionate about getting to know people at an authentic level. I also am excited to help demystify the therapeutic process for you, along with some of the stereotypes/cultural misconceptions that may exist regarding seeking help.

One of my favorite quotes regarding therapy is by Carl Rogers, who said: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself, just as I am, then I can change.” My main objective is to give you a safe, affirming environment so that you can come as you are, regardless of your circumstances, culture, identity, and belief systems, and experience healing and growth, however that may best look for you. Taking that first step to heal can be scary. I hope that you can see the value in acknowledging the fear, being curious of the opportunity that could be on the other side of that fear, and choosing to confront it to become acquainted with the most holistic version of yourself. If you are willing, I will be here with you on this journey!
